Treating Teens Part II: Dangerous Lifestyle Choices and Oral Implications
The current and sometimes shocking health behaviors and trends in the teen generation can influence their oral and systemic health. Dental professionals have a clinical opportunity to identify risky behaviors.
Teens are frequently not aware how their behavior can affect their health. Every day in the US, approximately 12,000 people ages 15 to 24 are infected with HPV. This webinar will emphasize the importance of conducting an oral cancer screening on every teen patient and discussing with them why the screening is important.

As the first generation of “digital natives”, teens engage daily in multiple platforms of social media. Online safety is a growing concern. This course identifies and addresses many of the platforms and their potential dangers.

When we encourage teens to make informed health decisions, it may positively influence their health choices for a lifetime. At the end of the webinar, dental professionals will be prepared to recognize high-risk behaviors in teens and address their unique oral hygiene needs.
